Overview

The 2025 Allied Able is no minor refresh—it’s a complete reinvention. With massively increased tire clearance, a significantly lighter frame, updated geometry, and better ride quality, this gravel bike feels purpose-built for modern off-road racing. Gone is the quirky elevated driveside chainstay, replaced with a sleeker dropped stay design and a more balanced aesthetic.

Pros and Cons

  • Pros: Huge tire clearance (up to 700×57 mm), 950g frame, excellent ride quality, updated geometry, internal frame storage, UDH compatibility, threaded BB, external routing option.
  • Cons: Still pricey, proprietary internal routing can be annoying, no 2x drivetrain compatibility, no longer US-made.

Design and Geometry

The new Able is a masterclass in refinement. Tire clearance jumps to 57 mm, frame weight drops by 300 g, and the geometry shifts to a more stable trail of 71 mm. The reach has been extended, bottom bracket drop increased to 80 mm, and rear center stretched to 428 mm—helping the bike balance out beautifully for aggressive gravel riding. Internal storage and an elegant wedge-style seatpost clamp elevate the usability factor.

Specs and Features

  • Frame: Carbon fiber, 950g (M), UDH compatible, internal storage
  • BB: English-threaded
  • Routing: Fully internal (optional external)
  • Seatpost: 27.2mm round, wedge clamp
  • Groupsets: Wireless 1x only (SRAM AXS-compatible)
  • Clearance: 700×57 mm
  • Fork offset: 55 mm
  • Trail: 71 mm (w/ 50 mm tire)
  • Weight (as tested): 7.95 kg (M, SRAM Red AXS build)

Ride Impressions

Allied’s overhaul pays off in a big way. The new Able rides like a modern gravel racer should: fast, composed, and confidence-inspiring. The added stability and tire clearance make it ideal for chunky terrain, while the light weight and geometry keep it agile and fast. Compared to the old model, it’s more comfortable, quieter, and visually balanced.

Bottom Line

The 2025 Allied Able isn’t just more capable—it’s one of the most complete gravel race bikes on the market today. While the internal routing may irk some riders and the price is still premium, it’s a serious contender for anyone chasing KOMs or race podiums off-road.
